| Studied at the Moscow Art School (1892-1900) and then taught in his own studio in Moscow (1900-17). Participant in exhibitions: World of Art (1903, 1906), Union of Russian Artists (1903-23, member from 1903), AKhRR (1923-29), Exposition Universelle in Brussels (1910), international exhibitions in Dusseldorf (1904), Venice (1907), Munich (1909) and Rome (1911) etc. Elected Life Member of the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1906. From 1947 Full Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. In 1943 awarded the title of Laureate of the USSR State Prize. | ||||||
