YAKULOV, Georgy Bogdanovich
b.1884, Tiflis; d.1928, Erevan
Studied at the Moscow Art School (1901-03). Participant in exhibitions from 1906: Moscow Fellowship of Artists (1907, 1909-11), Stefanos (1907-08), Union of Russian Artists (1909, 1910), World of Art (1911-17), Society of Young Artists (1919, 1921), Masters of the Blue Rose (1925), exhibitions of Russian art in Vienna (1909) and Berlin (1922) etc. In 1925 member of the jury of the Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. From 1918 worked in theatres in Moscow (the Chamber Theatre) and towns around the USSR. Designs for Diaghilev's Paris production of the ballet The Steel Leap in 1927. From 1918 to 1919 taught at the First Svomas in Moscow.
