ペステリ(バリイ)、ヴェーラ・エフレーモヴナ
b.1887, Moscow; d.1952, Moscow
Studied in the private studio of M. Falise in the early 1900s, then at the Stroganov School (1904-06), in the studio of Konstantin Yuon under K. Kish, a student of Simon Hollosy (1906-07). Worked in the studio The Tower in Moscow with Tatlin, Vladimir Favorsky, Peter Miturich and K. Zefirov (1911-12) and then drew in free studios in Paris (1912-13). Participant in exhibitions from 1916: Shop (1916), World of Art (1917), Makovets / Art-Life (1922-26), Spider (Paris, 1925), The Path of Painting (1927-30). In the 1920s taught art circles and developed art programmes at the Central House for the Artistic Education of Children, and from 1944 to 1952 worked in the school office of the State History Museum.
