KOROVIN, Konstantin Alexeevich
b.1861, Moscow; d.1939, Paris
Studied at the Moscow Aft School (1875-86), where he was later to teach (1901-18). Lived in Moscow and, from 1923, in Parts. Member of the artistic circle based at Abramtsevo from 1885, and of the World of Aft (1899); founder of the Union of Russian Artists (1903). Participant in exhibitions: the Wanderers (1889-99), World of Aft (1899-1903, 1906), Union of Russian Artists (1903-23), exhibition of Russian Art in Paris and Berlin (1906), World Exhibition in Chicago (1893), Exposition Universelle in Paris (1900), international exhibitions in Munich (1898), Vienna (1902), Venice (1907), Rome (1911) etc.
