EXTER [GRIGOROVICH], Alexandra Alexandrovna
b.1882, Belostok, Grodno Province; d.1949, Fontenay-aux-Roses, France
Studied at Kiev Art School (1901-03, 1906-07) and in the studio of Carlo Delvall at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris (1909). Participant in exhibitions from 1908: New Society of Artists (1908-09), Izdebsky's Salons (1909-11), Link (1908), Triangle (1910), Union of Youth (1910, 1913-14), Knave of Diamonds (1910-17), Ring (1914), Salon des Independents in Paris (1914), International Futurist Exhibition in Rome (1914), Tram-way V (1915), Shop (1916), 5x5=25 (1921). Joined the Constructivists in 1921. Taught in the Children's Art School in Odessa (1918), in her own studio of decorative art in Kiev (1918-20), at VKhUTEMAS in Moscow (1921-22) and at Leger's Academy of Contemporary Art in Paris.
