BORISOV-MUSATOV, Viktor Elpidiforovich
b.1870, Saratov; d.1905, Tarusa
Studied at the studio of Saratov Society of Fine Arts Lovers under V.V. Konovalov (in 1880s), at the Moscow School of painting, sculpture and architecture (1890-91,1893-95), at the Petersburg Academy of Arts under P.P.Tchistiakov (1891-93), at the Studio of F. Kormon ( 1895-98) in Paris. Participated in the exhibition from 1899: the Moscow Association of painters (1899-1905, member of the Association from 1899), The Scarlet Rose (Saratov,1904), The Union of Russian Artists (1904-05), Salon des Independents (1905), Salon d'Automne (1905-06), Salon de la Nationale des Beaux-Arts (1905) in Paris. One-man exhibition (1904) in Hamburg and Berlin. Lived in Saratov (before 1903), Podolsk and Tarusa near Moscow.
